In general, tuition is privately funded. For the school-aged program, tuition can come from families or sometimes your local school system will fund a child to be here.

No. The King’s Daughters’ School is a long-term school, rather than a short-term treatment facility, so insurance will not fund KDS, nor can KDS accept Medicaid or Medicaid waiver for tuition.

Yes, the school can accept state funding from some agencies (not including Medicaid or Medicaid Waiver). If a state agency is interested in funding your child, please contact us to determine if this can be arranged.

Yes, school systems do sometimes fund KDS—parents and/or the school system initiate this process. If the school system is funding, we will work with them to meet any specific requirements they may have.

Yes. At this time, all day and residential services are only open to registered KDS students.

Over the years, KDS has developed a small scholarship fund. Please find the criteria and application form here. We do not have additional financial aid at this time.

Unfortunately, tuition/funding arrangements must be made prior to a student being accepted at the school.

Tuition is all-inclusive, covering educational expenses and room & board (including all residential learning expenses as well). The only things not covered by tuition are incidentals, such as school uniforms, haircuts, and special trips. These items are covered by a Student Spending Account, which a parent funds with approximately $50/month.

No. Speech, occupational therapy, counseling services, or any other contracted therapies required by the IEP will be added on to the tuition rate.

Tuition is generally paid monthly via ACH. We can accept advance quarterly payments with approval from the business office.

Yes, KDS requires a one-year contract; however, there is a 30-day cancellation clause in the contract if necessary for either party. The first month’s tuition is due upon enrollment.

Upon enrollment, your child will be assigned a case manager. This will be your main point of contact regarding your child. For direct communication with your child, you may call your child’s residence in the evenings at scheduled times or schedule a Skype session. Emails and letters are also fine.

You can arrange to visit your child at any time. We do request that you call ahead just to make sure that the child is on campus and not out doing an activity. Most students go home for three one-week breaks in July, December, and March, as well as for special family occasions.

Students will receive a special education diploma stating they have satisfied their IEP requirements.

We serve students for a year at minimum, and depending on the student’s and family’s goals, students can be with us for a couple years, to long-term placement.

Yes. We can serve a limited number of day students at both campuses. They attend school Monday-Friday with the exception of holidays and break weeks.

At this time, we are not accepting new students over age 40.

No, unfortunately we do not provide that service in our program. For enrolled students, we can assist with re-evaluations through local providers.
